In June, it was an idea. In July, we had more than 50 local people signed up to our newsletter, and eager to help. The enthusiasm was infectious! And now we have the beginnings of a festival – the 2023 Mansfield Readers and Writers Festival.
For around two months, a hard working committee has created the outline of a festival program, launched a short story competition, attracted members and supporters and generated excitement in the writing community.
They say that every journey starts with a single step. Together, we’ve taken quite a few steps already. We’ve reached a milestone and we’re going to celebrate on the 15th of September with a kickoff event at the Delatite Hotel in Mansfield, starting at 6:15 pm.
Come to the event and find out how you can be involved in the next steps on our journey. We’ll reveal our plans for the next few months, and share the areas where we need your help, skills and support.
Mansfield Readers and Writers is a community organisation that we believe will benefit not only the community in Mansfield and district but also the literary community.
