Masterclass: Short story with Laura E. Goodin (online)

Date and time: Monday 21 August
6 – 9 pm

Venue: Online (Zoom)
Ticket prices: $35/ $28 member and concession

Writing short fiction is a great way to build writing skills that apply to all forms, but more important, it’s fun! This workshop covers the basics of plot, characterisation, world-building, and dialogue that you can use when writing short stories (about 1,000 to 9,000 words) and flash fiction (anywhere up to about 1,000 words). It will also cover how to format a story manuscript and how to submit stories to publishing markets. The workshop includes plenty of chances to write (you can bring one of your own works in progress to work on, or just start something from scratch), ask questions, and get to know your fellow writers. All experience levels and genres (including, but not limited to, fan-fic, romance, literary, speculative, humour, and creative nonfiction) are welcome!
